Winter Makerspace STEM lessons using the story Curious About Snow is a wonderful way to teach and reinforce informational text comprehension standards- asking and answering questions, main idea, text features, vocabulary, visuals, and author's purpose, while also focusing on STEM (states of matter) and Makerspace.

Lesson plans are included for 5 days or more if you choose all standards to cover.

This makerspace moment in literature takes a beautiful book and tells the story of snow. This is a nonfiction book that looks at the creation of snow crystals and snowflakes. It is perfect for Close Reading and as an Interactive Read Aloud. The book The Story of Snow is not included but is necessary for this project.
