OTT 181: How Teachers Decide Whether to Stay in the Classroom or Leave the Classroom
Two seasoned teachers discuss the how and why of deciding whether or not to leave the classroom.
Many people believe that being a teacher is one of the most rewarding professions. After all, what could be more gratifying than shaping the minds of tomorrow's leaders?
However, teaching is not always easy. In fact, it can be downright difficult at times. Teachers often have to deal with challenging classroom situations, unruly students, and demanding parents. As a result, it's not surprising that some teachers eventually decide to leave the classroom.
How do they make this decision? Some teachers may feel that they have simply reached their breaking point and can no longer take the pressure. Ultimately, there is no right or wrong answer when it comes to deciding whether to stay in the classroom or leave. It's a decision that each teacher has to make based on their own individual circumstances; join two tired teachers as we discuss what the right decision might be for you.
