Mother's Day is the perfect time to tell your mom or remarkable woman in your students' lives how much they are valued and loved. Nothing says I think the world of you more than a homemade gift or a DIY Mother's Day craft, and why not say it with a lap book

Perfect Craft for Mother's Day

Mother's Day Lapbooks offers the perfect way to tell mom how much you love and care for her. This lap book is creative, has opportunities for kids to share all about exceptional women in their lives, is fun to make, and has an adorable card created on paper flowers that can be attached to the front of the lapbook.

Lapbooks make great Mother's Day gift ideas. Add some quality time when kids give their books to their female role models, and you hit the gift jackpot! Lapbooks are also easy Mother's Day crafts to do inside your classroom or from home. These lapbooks are a perfect Mother's Day craft, and each lapbook contains a special message just for mom, grandma, or another particular family member.

Lab book Steps:

1. Print and Copy All Pages from the PDF File of this Simple Craft

There are many choices for various women in the lives of kids. You can even do a grandmother book! There is also a different mom face to choose from. Print the faces on construction paper or use construction paper to create faces with googly eyes or wiggly eyes and more. (This is perfect for little hands and fine motor skills.) Plus, you can include mom's favorite color by drawing on earrings to the face, or a better way is to add a pretty scarf to the neck of the face.

2. Put Together the Inside Components and Complete

There are so many great ideas to talk about moms. Words All About Mom or Mother is a fun way to think of adjectives that describe Mom. {This also provides an excellent discussion point on inner and outer characteristics.} There are suggested words for kids to define and draw a picture of how the word relates to mom, or there are blanks to think of their own words.

Mini-books include sharing some favorite things in All About Mom and Using My Five Senses to Explain Mom. Watch out for some funny examples of what mom smells like and how mom drives! {Mini-books encourage writing, reflecting, and reviewing a science topic of the five senses.}

Finally, the middle section, Our Favorite Thing to Do Together, can be a meaningful written piece or a beautiful illustration expressing a special moment between a child and their unique female influence. This space can also be used to collect photos in a scrapbook-type fashion, with favorite pictures from kids creating a pretty picture frame for mom. (Adding photos of Mom can make this project a meaningful gift.) Anything goes in this printable Mother's Day craft, and a little artist will love how creative they can get.

3. Create the Cover

We wait to do the cover last so that you can cover up the back side of the brads or the staples from the inside. This took me a couple of upset children to finally realize this step needed to come last! {Again, there are choices for the cover.}

4. Add the Head

You can color a head to match your mom exactly or use the already-colored options. There are options for Grandma, as well.

5. Use the Flowers as Mother's Day Cards

Use the flowers as a card and paper clips to clip them on. Some of the youngest kids may need some help putting the flowers together. The paper clips allow it to be removable so Mom can open the rest!

I hope your children enjoy this fun project and moms do too! Add this resource to your list of Mother's Day craft ideas. It is such a fun gift.
