Perfect Craft for Father's Day

Father's Day Lapbook offers the perfect way to tell dad just how much you love and care for him. This lap book is creative, has opportunities for kids to share all about special men in their lives, is fun to make, and has an adorable card that is created on the bow tie of the book.

Lapbooks make great gift ideas for this special day. Add in some quality time when kids give their books to their male role models, and you have hit the gift jackpot! Lapbooks are also easy Father's Day crafts to do inside your classroom or from home. Plus, these lapbooks are such cute crafts for DIY Father's Day gifts, and each lapbook contains a special message just for dad or grandpa.

Lab book Steps:

1. Print and Copy All Pages from the PDF File

There are many choices for a variety of different men in the lives of kids. You can even do a grandpa book! There is also a different dad's face to choose from. Print the faces on construction paper or use construction paper to create faces with googly eyes or wiggly eyes and more.

2. Put Together the Inside Components and Complete

There are so many great ideas to talk about dads. Words All About Dad is a fun way to think of adjectives that describe dad. {This also provides an excellent discussion point on inner and outer characteristics.} There are suggested words for kids to define and draw a picture of how the word relates to dad, or there are blanks to think of their own words.

Mini-books include sharing some favorite things in All About Dad and Using My Five Senses to Explain Dad. Watch out for some funny examples of what dad smells like and how dad drives! {Mini-books encourage writing, reflecting, and reviewing a science topic of the five senses.}

Finally, the middle section, Our Favorite Thing to Do Together, can be a meaningful written piece or a beautiful illustration expressing a special moment between a child and their unique male influence. This space can also be used as a place to collect photos in a scrapbook-type fashion with favorite pictures from kids. (Adding photos of dad can make this project a meaningful gift.) Anything goes in this printable fathers day craft.

3. Create the Cover

We wait to do the cover last so that you can cover up the back side of the brads or the staples from the inside. This took me a couple of upset children to finally realize this step needed to come last! {Again, there are choices for the cover.}

4. Add the Head

You can color a head to match your dad exactly, or you can use the already-colored options. There are options for grandpa, as well.

5. Use the Ties as Father's Day Cards

Use the tie as a card, and then use paper clips to clip it on. Some of the youngest kids may need a bit of help putting the tie together. The paper clips allow it to be removable so dad can open the rest!

I hope your children enjoy this fun project, and I hope dads do too! Add this resource to your list of Father's Day craft ideas. It is such a fun gift.

Now you have your fabulous Father's Day Craft for kids to make!
